General information

For those thinking about studying abroad are there special offers available if you do this within one of our programs.

Exchange agreements

The conditions for studying abroad looks a little different, depending on which country you wish to go to and if there is an agreement with the University of your choice. If you go through one of our exchange agreement, you will not have to pay tuition fees. (Note that all the agreements do not apply at all levels. Some agreements are limited to undergraduate level, while others may include or be limited to masters or doctoral level).

Erasmus

If you travel within the EU on an Erasmus agreement, can you also receive a grant of € 1500 for the first three months to cover your increased living costs. The University of Gothenburg has gathered important information about the Erasmus exchange. Please see:

CRITERIA

The best suitable student can be sent for an exchange. The decision cannot be appealed. The University of Gothenburg nominates students. The receiving university admits students, if the student fulfills the prerequisites. Only nominated students can apply for admission.

 

To be nominated, you must:

  1. You must be enrolled in and studying active in the context of a program.
  2. You must have passed at least one year of study, 60 credits, at the program.
  3. Hold the right language skills.
  4. You must be able to return from abroad before your have to start writing your thesis.
  5. You must be able to find courses that you can have in your degree. Hence, an exchange may not prolong your studies.
  6. You must have the ability to act as a student ambassador for the University of Gothenburg.
  7. At the time of application, you must have completed 95% of the courses you started.
