The Learning, Communication and IT (LKIT) group is involved in several university wide and national research efforts such as LinCS (The Linnaeus Centre for Research on Learning, Interaction and Mediated Communication in Contemporary Society), which is a national centre of excellence funded by the Swedish Research Council, as well as two of the university’s priority research areas: "Learning" and "Language technology".
The multidisciplinary group consists of researchers from pedagogy, computer science, linguistics informatics, as well as teachers and developers, jointly exploring the possibilities and consequences of IT in education, learning and knowing. Digital technologies continueous to play an important role in the transformation of learning and knowing, affecting both educational, work and leisure practices. Perspectives on literacy and abilities for participation in new media ecology are also relevant research areas.
The research group is also host for the department's part of the faculty transgressing PhD-school for practicing pedagogs (CUL).
