Software Engineering and Management

Software Engineering and Management (SE&M) was founded in 2002, and is a constituent part of the IT University of Göteborg.

Our mission is to increase productivity in industrial software development projects.

To deliver on this mission, we maintain four values:

The Software Engineering and Management research group shall

• be industry oriented: research problems are sought in contemporary industrial practice rather than in the academic domain.
• be multi-disciplinary: industry oriented software engineering research calls for competence in engineering and also competencies rooted in the social sciences.
• have a tight bond between research and education: a shortage of individuals skilled in both the technical and social aspects of software development makes fostering such an issue for the long-term success of the group.
• be international: to obtain high quality research, recruitment of students and teachers should be worldwide.
