The overarching focus of the Center is on research and actions that address three core aspects of how the public learns, understands, and uses science in regard to issues of sustainability:

• Understanding science for governance on global, regional and local scale
• Building capacity for innovation by enhancing dialogues
• Facilitate inclusion of people from all cultures and backgrounds
