Jens Kabo

Jens Kabo currently works as a lecturer and researcher at the Division of Engineering Education Research. Among his current activates is developing and teaching courses for the new science teacher master program (MPLOL: Lärande och Ledarskap) given by Chalmers.

In the spring of 2010 Jens completed his doctoral studies at Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada, where he conducted his research in the area of engineering education drawing on threshold concept theory and phenomenography. The title of his dissertation was "Seeing through the lens of social justice: A threshold for engineering"

Prior to Queen’s Jens acquired a MSc in Engineering Physics from Chalmers, focusing on Technical Communication. Before starting the PhD Jens did a short stint as a consultant at Volvo Cars and after returning to Sweden in 2010 he worked as an upper secondary teacher of technology for a semester.

Jens research interests include: the social side of engineering, critical thinking, threshold concepts, conceptions of engineering and technology, engineering education in general.
